I live in NJ and have plans and I cannot find anybody to help me with build.

I am studying Japanese joinery and I think this bench is absolutely wonderful. Do you have any pictures of the underside of the bench in order to see how the joints were used? Or perhaps a brief explanation of their use, if that is not asking too much. Thank you for your time.

I’m also a woodworker and intaglio printmaker. Although your press is designed for wood block printing, I don’t think it would suffice for intaglio work. I’m about to undertake an etching press build with 6061 76 aircraft aluminum. The upper roller will be 5″ diameter solid steel with 1.5″ shoulders for the bearings. The reason for the 5″ diameter upper roller is it takes less effort to “climb” over the thicknesses of plate & felts. The side rails will be a strong hardwood; perhaps
what you used (Jarrah). The lower roller will be 6061 T6 and 4″ diameter solid aluminum with 1.5″ shoulders for the bearings. The bed will be hardened tool steel and tempered to a 62 Rockwell (hardness number) so it will never curl. The prices of etching presses is too high, so if anyone does a bit of research for plans, there are many sites that offer build your own etching press available online. It’s fun just to do the research and digging around to see the many choices available. I believe you posted a super fast realtime video of the build ? Thanks for your inspiration and talent as a wood worker.
