Glue less bench project
‘Glue-less Bench Seat’ combining traditional and contemporary techniques. The fundamentals of joinery and woodwork are utilized in the creation of a this knock-down (ready to assemble) structure, designed to demonstrate the power of joinery.
a number of complex joints have been incorporated into this product, including; wedged through tenons (or tusked tenons), edge lap joint with a sliding dovetail wedge, bridle joint and a stopped housing joint.
The bench seat design is Scandinavian inspired and Japanese influenced. It is visually simple, however it boasts quality and credibility in material and complexity of joints. While the main structure and joining methods are fixed, there are opportunities to customise the product slightly to distinguish and address personal tastes.

Hello,
I am studying Japanese joinery and I think this bench is absolutely wonderful. Do you have any pictures of the underside of the bench in order to see how the joints were used? Or perhaps a brief explanation of their use, if that is not asking too much. Thank you for your time.
